Robben Ford is one of the premier electric guitarists today, particularly known for his blues playing, as well as his ability to be comfortable in a variety of musical contexts. A five-time Grammy nominee, Robben Ford has played with artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, George Harrison, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, John Mayall, Mavis Staples, Michael McDonald, The Yellowjackets and Dizzie Gillespie.
Robben has released over 35 studio albums as well as collaborative projects such as Jing Chi, with Vinnie Colaiuta and Jimmy Haslip. He has influenced generations of blues guitarists with his fluid, virtuosic playing.
I’ve toured and recorded with Robben as part of Guitar Army, with Lee Roy Parnell - I’ve learned so much from being around him, about tone, improvising, creativity. He is a wealth of knowledge and is an important ambassador for blues music in the 21st century.
