Don Peake

Don Peake

Don Peake is a session guitarist, record producer and arranger who has contributed to some of popular music's biggest songs as a member of the famed LA recording ensemble, The Wrecking Crew.  His guitar work can be heard on recordings by Marvin Gaye, The Jackson Five, the Commodores, Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, The Temptations and many more.

Don played guitar on Marvin Gaye’s ‘Lets Get It On’, Ike and Tina Turners ‘River Deep Mountain High’, The Jackson Five’s ‘I Want You Back, and ‘ABC’ and countless other hit.  He played with Ray Charles for ten years and also worked with a who’s who of music royalty including John Lennon, The Beach Boys, The Everly Brothers, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Glen Campbell, Sonny And Cher, Barry White, Roy Orbison, The Monkees, Diana Ross and many more.

Don studied guitar with Barney Kessel, Howard Roberts and Joe Pass and has arranged and composed extensively for film and tv, including classics such as the soundtrack to Knight Rider.

I am such a fan of Don as a person and musician.  He is the coolest guy you can imagine, with so many great stories of the LA session scene - a world few get a window into.  He has become a great friend and I’ve learned so much from being around him.
